Addiction is preventable and treatable

Through public advocacy efforts, APRAK provides a trusted national voice on all issues related to addiction prevention, treatment and recovery.

Capacity Building

Through its partners and consultants, APRAK provides Training and Technical Assistance (TTA) provides education, support and capacity building to community health centers and other health care and social service providers on best practices caring for patients with substance use disorders.

Addictions Prevention

The APRAK looks at prevention for children, teenagers, young adults, adults, and older adults, because people are never too young or too old to develop substance use disorders.

Addiction Treatment

Effective treatments for substance use disorders are available. The first step is recognition of the problem. The recovery process can be delayed when a person lacks awareness of problematic substance use.

Family Therapy Support

Family therapy can help the family as a whole recover and heal. It can help all members of the family make specific, positive changes as the person in recovery changes. These changes can help all family members heal from the trauma of mental illness or addiction.

Mental Health Support

Mental health includes our emotional, psychological, and social well-being. It affects how we think, feel, and act. It also helps determine how we handle stress, relate to others, and make choices.
